In the first volume of The Story of Jiro, the protagonist, Jiro Honda, is raised by his foster mother, Ohama, shortly after birth. When he returns to his biological family at the age of five or six, he struggles to bond with them, particularly longing for his mother’s love. In this process, his father becomes the only family member who truly understands him. The story explores Jiro’s internal conflicts and growth as he faces fated adversity, yearning for affection and feeling alienated from those around him. Through this, the importance of family bonds and love is highlighted.
