Rinko Kawakami is the founder and publisher of Linc Books, a bilingual platform connecting Japanese and international readers, researchers, and scholars. Her work focuses on research, scientific and academic writing, cross-cultural communication, and making knowledge accessible across linguistic and disciplinary boundaries.
Kawakami holds an MS in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from San José State University and has extensive experience working with researchers in Japan and abroad. Through her work with Linc Science, an academic and scientific editing and translation service, she has spent more than a decade helping researchers communicate their work to international audiences. She has worked with researchers and professionals across medicine, engineering, science, nursing and related fields, and has also taught scientific and academic writing to university students and graduate researchers.
Her current interests include research communication, research ethics, science and society, and the changing relationship between humans, technology, and knowledge. Through Linc Books, she publishes her own books and seeks to create opportunities for international scholars and researchers to share ideas across languages and disciplines.
Based in Fukuoka, Japan, Kawakami continues to explore ways of connecting Japanese and international scholarly communities through writing, publishing, and education.
