Biography

Rinko Kawakami is the founder, translator, global adaptation specialist, managing editor, and writer at Linc Books. She is dedicated to discovering and refining hidden gems of Japanese literary talent, bringing them to a wider international audience. In addition to translation, her work focuses on adapting these stories to resonate with global readers while ensuring the original essence remains intact.

Born and raised in Kurashiki, Japan, Kawakami holds an MS in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from San José State University. Before founding LincBooks, she spent over a decade helping Japanese researchers publish internationally through Linc Science, an editing and translation service specializing in academic and scientific manuscripts. This experience honed her expertise in editing, translation, and cross-cultural communication. Now residing in Fukuoka, Japan, she continues to champion overlooked Japanese literature, introducing these works to English-speaking readers around the world.
